Related Projects
Building Supply Chain Resilience in the Arizona Healthcare System is a report commissioned by the Arizona Coalition for Healthcare Emergency Response (AzCHER) in partnership with ASU and the Healthcare Transformation Institute.
Understanding the importance of the availability of critical medical supplies and equipment to ensure ongoing delivery of patient care, AzCHER commissioned ASU to provide an assessment of supply chain integrity in Arizona. The project performed by ASU faculty, staff, and students in the WP Carey School of Business, Center for Healthcare Delivery and Policy, and the Healthcare Transformation Institute in 2021-2022 delineated the supply chain vulnerabilities experienced and mitigation strategies developed during the pandemic. Report recommendations included the potential role of the Arizona healthcare coalition as a supply chain facilitator, supported by advancement of information competencies and capabilities, partnerships, training focused on supply chain preparedness, and development of a Common Pool Resource Organization (CPRO), which would provide a platform for community collaboration in support of emergency medical preparedness.
