Natalia A. Wilson, MD MPH is the Executive Director of the Center for Healthcare Delivery and Policy at Arizona State University where she works to advance health and healthcare delivery through research, education, and collaborative partnerships. 

During the COVID-19 pandemic, Dr. Wilson was focused on understanding the challenges faced in emergency preparedness in Arizona with the intent to inform development of a robust emergency medical preparedness system in Arizona. Key areas included surge management, supply chain, workforce, education and training, and the development of trusting partnerships.  More recently she has been engaged in improvement of the crisis mental health system in Maricopa County.  There has been significant engagement with stakeholders across the mental health system. Particular focus is the Fire/EMS response to crisis patients. 

Dr. Wilson’s conducts research on implementation of unique device identifiers (UDI) in health systems and UDI use in clinical care and in real-world evidence studies on medical devices. Research projects have been funded by the FDA, PCORI, AHRQ, and the National Evaluation System for health Technology (NEST) Coordinating Center. She has authored numerous publications, reports, conference abstracts and resource materials on UDI, and provided UDI education in national and international venues. Dr. Wilson was a member of the NEST Planning Board and continues to serve on multiple UDI workgroups and advisory boards. 

Dr. Wilson is also an educator on population health and the science of healthcare delivery, which she has taught extensively at ASU, Mayo, and through executive education.  Her most recent courses have focused on crisis mental health. 

Prior to joining the Center, Dr. Wilson held a number of roles at ASU including Associate Director in the School for the Science of Health Care Delivery, Co-director of the Health Sector Supply Chain Research Consortium in the WP Carey School of Business, Program Liaison for the ASU-Mayo Certificate Program in the Science of Health Care Delivery, and Academic Program Director for Medical Studies. She has been a Clinical Associate Professor in the College of Health Solutions as well as an Adjunct Assistant Professor at Mayo Clinic Alix School of Medicine. Prior to ASU, Dr. Wilson was a physician partner at Thunderbird Internal Medicine, Ltd. where she focused on prevention and women's health.
