Center for Healthcare Delivery & Policy

The Center for Healthcare Delivery and Policy focuses on the advancement of high-value healthcare in the US and the attainment of health through contribution of ideas, evidence, and solutions to influence policy and practice. The Center defines value in healthcare as improvement in patient outcomes + patient safety + patient satisfaction relative to the cost of this improvement, setting the bar that value is based on high quality care, patient safety, and excellence in outcomes. The Center uses the WHO definition of health as a state of complete physical, mental, and social well-being and not merely the absence of disease or infirmity.

As receiving high-value healthcare and attaining health are part of a broad health ecosystem in the US, and with the understanding that change requires interdisciplinary partnerships and collaborative work, the Center brings together individuals, organizations, and university assets to address vital needs. Research and commentary delineate key areas for advancement and innovation. Students are empowered through education to become effective leaders and change agents. Through these activities, the Center catalyzes change to support patients, communities, and the people and organizations serving others in health and healthcare.
